The Launch team love getting involved in the community, particularly when it makes a difference. Last month one of our brokers went off-road and took part in the Variety WA 4WD Adventure! The event takes 4WD vehicles and their owners off the bitumen and into the outback. The aim is to raise funds for WA kids in need.
The group visited remote communities and handed out presents to the local kids in the areas along the route. Variety also presented a $7.5k grant to the ‘Kyle Andrews Foundation’. This foundation was named after a young cancer patient who wanted kids with serious or life-threatening illness to experience the adventures of what he did every day in his life in Broome “so that they may feel better”. This grant will assist 4 kids to have an experience in the Broome/Kimberley region.
Variety also donated $6.5k to the Christ the King Catholic School, to set up a hairdressing salon that will provide training and life skills to young local kids. One of the participants also donated about $2k worth of hair products to get them started.
In total the group raised $205k for Variety to help sick and under privileged kids. They visited 3 schools; Sacred Heat in Beagle Bay, Christ the King Catholic School in Lombadina and One Arm Point remote Community School.
